Colorado Community Brownfields ForumAfter Saturday's successful community workshop, what's next for this website? We'll keep an archive of workshop materials here, but also build on the concept of Colorado Community Brownfields. The address/nickname, CoCoBrownfields, won't change, but the name is now Colorado Community Brownfields Forum: information and community involvement in Colorado brownfields cleanup and redevelopment. Those of you who followed the link in your workshop registration email are already registered for the site. New registrations are welcome, and easy. Registration allows you to post your own forum topics and stories, to upload file attachments and to comment on other posts. All registration information is confidential, and now that the workshop is over, only a name and an email address are required. Initial plans include expanded maps of brownfield sites in Denver and Colorado plus a set of links to resources about brownfields and related topics, as well as new Voluntary Cleanup applications and other news. The door is open to any level of involvement you'd like. You too can participate and add content to the site -- give it a try -- or just use the comment form to send suggestions. (This is a Drupal site, by the way, which makes it easy to set up these features, but the changes are a work in progress -- do send a note if things aren't working right.) Note, this site will remain affiliated with the Voluntary Cleanup Advisory Board, but is not an official arm of that organization. |
